December 2000 found me freezing on a London street corner, 26 years old and adrift. My realtionship had just ended and I was working a dead-end job at a mediocre Mexican restaurant and questioning every life choice that had brought me there after years in the hospitality industry.
"That's when fate intervened and changed everything..."
A friend was working as a chef in the yachting industry and invited me to "come take a look" at his world in Fort Lauderdale. On a whim that would change everything, I boarded a flight from Gatwick to Ft Lauderdale the very next day.
Six weeks later, I had sold everything I owned, completed my STCW-95 certification, and returned to Florida with nothing but a backpack and HUGE BUTTERFLIES.
Over the next 12 years, I worked on multiple super yachts, exploring 70+ countries across four continents. I've navigated the Mediterranean's azure waters, witnessed Caribbean sunsets that defy description, and anchored in secluded bays accessible only to the rich and famous.
